HELLO AND WELCOME TO APRIL!

March saw us slightly rejig things at Canmaking News HQ. Each month we will be focusing on a different country, including news and analysis, as well as features from those regions. In March, our Country In Focus was the US and we were thrilled to include a feature from Heath Cox, Director of Industry Affairs at the Can Manufacturers Institute, who examined the challenges US aluminium beverage can makers face to produce cans made solely from recycled content, whilst promoting the expansion of recycling refund policies. You’ve been busy….

Eviosys has launched a premium rectangular can for luncheon meat packaging in Turkey. The company said that the launch is in response to customer demand, which indicates an expanding meat market, and a preference for rectangular packaging in the region. Click here to read more.

The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) has launched Aluminium Forward 2030, a coalition of IAI’s 25 production members and 20 downstream and customer companies who have committed themselves to transforming the aluminium sector. The aim is to accelerate progress toward net zero emissions while working  together on a roadmap that is inclusive of all the other UN Sustainable Development Goals. Find out more here.
