Bisphenol A (BPA)… where are we now?

Bisphenol A is an organic synthetic colourless compound, discovered by Russian chemist Aleksandr Dianin in 1891, and has been in commercial use since 1957. BPA-based plastics include certain polycarbonates for use in various consumer products, such as plastic water bottles, CDs and DVDs, and epoxy resins, which are used to line water pipes and the insides of many food and beverage cans.
