The days are finally getting longer and the weather (which we brits are obsessed with) is getting somewhat better. The industry continues on its strong momentum as evidenced by the impressive year end results released in February. This was of no surprise given the great reports we’re hearing from you all however as ever, it’s wonderful to see in black and white.

You’ve been busy….

Princes has launched its first ever plant-based range of canned ready meals – to answer the ever-growing demand for easy, affordable, delicious vegan options. The new range launched as Princes continues to see demand for canned food grow – with younger shoppers looking for vegetarian and vegan options which are also convenient to make and taste great. At the peak of the pandemic, 3.7m new shoppers tried canned ready meals with many looking for vegetarian options. Read more here.

A new podcast on the benefits for aluminium recycling was launched by Fun Kids, the UK’s leading radio station for children, families and parents. In each episode, characters Max, Alisha and Mum learn more about aluminium packaging, how it’s made and how best to recycle it. Alongside discussing the challenges of contamination, the trio explore the reprocessing of recycled aluminium, visiting a wide range of locations to explain its infinite circularity. Novelis has signed a long-term collaboration agreement with HES-SO Valais-Wallis in collaboration with EPFL of Energypolis Campus, a Swiss innovation and research hub, as well as energy distributor OIKEN, to start a joint research and development (R&D) laboratory to advance carbon neutral solutions for aluminium manufacturing.
