BAMA Conference Cheshire

As we gear up for Christmas, we’re keeping a keen eye on the marketing campaigns coming out from our favourite retailers. Most notably, the advent calendars. Stay tuned for a full report on the Christmas gimmicks we think hold their weight.

On 11th and 12th October 2023, Canmaking News returned to the picturesque Cheshire countryside for the annual BAMA Forum & Awards, hosted once again by the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) at the luxurious Carden Park Hotel.

The first day of the event, Wednesday 11th October, was defined by the Forum, which commenced with registration and lunch, followed by a welcome speech from Adrian McCrelton, Chairman of BAMA and a BAMA update from BAMA Chief Executive Patrick Heskins. TOLAG is now the sole agent for WALLRAM Group in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and will also cooperate with Wallram on specialised projects. Commenting on the announcement, Wallram VP, Juergen Seel, said: “Chris McKenzie is a defining figure in our industry. His high level of professional expertise and many years of experience perfectly support Wallram’s growth, both globally and in terms of our continuous expansion of engineering and consulting expertise.”

Wine and spirits closures manufacturer Amcor Capsules says it has improved the sustainability performance of its Stelvin aluminium screwcap range by reducing its carbon footprint by up to 35%. Part of the Amcor group, the production of a Stelvin screwcap now emits up to 35% less carbon emissions compared to a standard screwcap produced with European aluminium sheets. Read more here.

Colep Packaging and the Envases Group have signed a joint venture agreement for the construction of an aerosol packaging plant in Mexico. The agreement, which is based on a 50/50 shareholding, will represent a total initial investment of more than 30 million dollars over a period of 2 years. In a first stage, the new plant will focus its production on 3 aluminium aerosol lines. The aim is to serve customers in Mexico as well as the entire Central America market using this production unit. Find out more about the new venture here!
