What a busy few weeks! In February, guests from around the world, including the Canmaking News team, attended the official launch event for American Canning’s new manufacturing plant in Austin, Texas. The new environmentally friendly facility is the first aTULC can manufacturing plant in North America and the smallest in the world. A collaboration with Toyo Seikan Group Holdings and featuring solutions from Stolle Machinery Company LLC, it is described as “small yet mighty” – capable of producing 300 million cans per year. Find out more here.

In an exclusive feature, we examine how aerosol products account for a huge share of the canning industry. Manufactured in countries all around the world – from Europe to North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa – they are used in various end-use sectors, including personal care, household care, healthcare and automotive, among others. Find out more here.

Toyo Seikan Group Holdings, Ltd. and UACJ Corporation have formed a business alliance to jointly study ways to further promote the horizontal recycling of aluminium cans. Read more about the alliance in a statement from the firms here.

At the end of February. Canmaking News attended the AmericaPack Summit in New Orleans for the first time as a media partner. We’re working closely with AmericaPack to help introduce metal  to summit which focuses on all things sustainability, recycling and reducing our carbon footprint. Watch this space as we bring you more updates.

As well as attending shows, pulling together some excellent features, we released our ninth episode of Canmaking News in Conversation with Mark Williams from CPM Packaging. Mark provided an insight into the company including how he spent a night locked in a bar and his high flying adventures! Listen here.
