January is a time to cast out the old and welcome in the new and is a month when many reflect on the events of the previous year – often resolving to redress or improve some aspect of daily life otherwise known as new year resolutions. Whilst these are often broken within the first few days, we at Canmaking News have resolved this year to be even better than before, look out for regular updates to the website and team news in the months to come!
January is also National Soup month in the US – with most soup sold in the form of cans, this is certainly a welcome boost to the metal packaging industry, we’ll definitely be indulging on this side of the pond!
See you at the ADF…
The team are getting ready to attend the ADF in Paris towards the end of the month. We’ll be posting all of the breaking news directly from the show. However in the mean-time, take a look at our piece on Alexis Van Maercke, secretary general of APEAL, who has provided his insights into the steel packaging industry ahead of the conference.
Finally, please spare a thought for our Australian friends and colleagues. We can’t imagine what the country is going through. The red cross have so far provided support to over 186,000 people, you can also donate here. It’s heartening to see how the world has come together to donate to the various charities in the region – a reminder of what can be achieved when differences are put aside and we all work to the same goal, perhaps something to remember going forward into 2020.
A Happy New Year to you all, we hope that 2020 is better and bigger than ever before!
