Networking and just being there
The first half of this year is busy with shows: ChinaCan, Metpack and the IMDA. So how do we make the most of these and truly benefit? If we do it well exhibiting can offer so many rich opportunities so it is vital to get it right and take full advantage of our time at the event. Because of online communications and social media we do not meet and greet as much as we used to. This is an opportunity to go back to ‘old fashioned’ methods and actually deal with customers face to face. No other form of marketing offers the same experience as exhibiting. Our stand is our shop floor. It’s a chance to make a good impression to hundreds of potential business colleagues and also to thank existing one’s. It is also a great platform for a new product launch. Some say that in this industry there are too may exhibitions/conferences. So here is a thought…perhaps there are not enough and perhaps the existing show formats need to be revamped?
And finally…
This year is the Chinese New Year of the Rooster, the 10th animal in the cycle. The meaning of the Rooster is independent, honest and punctual. Roosters are also competent but emotionally volatile, in other words not the best in social situations! Lucky numbers are: 5,7,8 Lucky colours brown, gold and yellow. Lucky flowers: gladiola and cockscomb. Lucky directions: South and South East. If you were born in 1933, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, or 2005 this could well be you! They like strutting their stuff so I wonder who you are?
See you soon in Shanghai at ChinaCan. Full details in Features. Sign up if you have not already done so…!
Be there or be square!
