Happy Flaming June Everyone
We’re still recovering from a very busy May which saw our frenetic preparations for the 2019 IMDPA Conference and Awards Luncheon in Illinois.
As usual this year’s excellent event addressed the many challenges all of you in metal packaging deal with to keep your industry sustainable, contemporary and innovative.
IMDPA President Dr William Hoyle opened the conference to tell us about the new and improved IMDPA, which changed its name earlier this year to incorporate ‘metal packaging’ into its title, which is, essentially, what the association is all about.
The two key speeches at the General Sessions on Wednesday and Thursday were from Robert Clark, Senior Director of Innovation and Packaging, Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Erik Rosenstrauch, CEO of Florida-based FUEL Partnerships, respectively.
Robert, passionate about innovation, exhorted the audience to ask themselves how they can lead innovative growth in the can and shaped aluminium category. And Erik’s presentation “Market & Packaging Trends” concluded that packaging will always be the ultimate sales tool.
You can read more about the key speeches as well as lots of other fascinating presentations and talks, not forgetting the Award Winners, in our Feature this month.
Keep on watching Canmaking News as we bring you industry stories as they unfold, from around the globe throughout the month.

The Green Dot does NOT necessarily mean that the packaging can be recycled. It is a symbol used on packaging in many European countries and signifies that the producer has made a contribution towards the recycling of packaging.
