Welcome to the January Issue of Canmaking News

Another busy year over, and a new one just begun. And boy, have we been busy. A new and improved website, which we are now updating with the latest news stories as we get them; industry shows and conferences to visit and cover, both at home and far flung places and a brand-new printed magazine to design and produce.

November Issue 170 – Comment

This Autumn, as in the preceding autumns for the past ten years, saw the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association Annual Forum and Awards Dinner take place at the fabulous Oulton Hall in Leeds, West Yorkshire; our very own Janis Osborn was there for the duration, where she met the Reverend Richard Coles – celebrated humourist and broadcaster as well as Church of England priest.

October Issue 169 – Comment

Summer might be falling away into autumn but at Canmaking News we’re on the up. We’ve been working with a great new team of web designers to tweak our on-line magazine to make it more user friendly and current. If all goes to plan, the November issue should see the news stories being updated throughout the month, with timely alerts so you don’t miss anything. There will still be a monthly feature and you’ll be notified when it goes on-line.

August Issue 167 – Comment

It might be the silly season here in the UK, aka the slow news season, as it’s known in the US, but even though traditionally the dog days of summer are renowned for being a bit empty of other than frivolous news, we’ve still managed to gather enough stories about what’s occurring in the world of metal packaging to fill the issue.

July Issue 166 – Comment

This time last year we were apologising for the weather, not that it was our fault of course, but it was just rain, rain and more rain. What a difference a year makes, now in the UK, we’re having one of the finest summers for years.

June Issue 165 – Comment

We can hardly believe that almost half the year has gone already! May saw the IMDA Conference in Illinois and this year’s annual event reflected the many challenges the metal packaging industry has to deal with to keep it viable, leading, and innovating onwards to continued success.

May Issue 164 – Comment

It’s hard to believe 1 May means it’s been a whole year since we were setting up our stand at Metpack in Messe Essen, and although at the end of the show we might have muttered, ‘never again’… we’re feeling a bit nostalgic.
