The Last Comment Before The Festivities, News And Views For November

It’s November and getting chilly here in the UK; finally, after an unseasonably warm and sunny October; our clocks have just gone back to Greenwich Mean Time and, “the nights are drawing in…” is a refrain to be heard throughout the British Isles. However, never let it be said that the infamous British weather stops us in our tracks; the wrong leaves on the line might halt our trains and a sprinkling of snow shut our roads, but not us, we keep on trucking come rain or shine – rain mostly.

Last month saw gallivanting Janis Osborn of Canmaking News and her partner, Chris Baldock, at both the LATAMCAN Conference in balmy Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the prestigious BAMA Forum and Awards Dinner at Oulton Hall near Leeds in West Yorkshire, UK.

LATAMCAN was a “total success”, according to its Director, Raul Martinez, and “exceeded all expectations.” He added that with its new name, came a new focus: “To offer the best technical information possible in a professional manner, staying away from the unnecessary party scene,” which is not to say it was a dull and staid event; judging from the photos (you’ll need to see the article!) plenty of fun was had by all.

“The organisation of the show and the warm welcome from the team was excellent,” said Raul. “It was efficient and ran very smoothly; most of the delegates had nothing but good words to say and great praise. It was good business for everyone.

“We look forward to the next show which will be in 2019, possibly in Mexico.”
